Laquanda was stabbed to death by her boyfriend, Jonathan Nelson, 20.

James had enlisted the help of her sister, police and security guards in an effort to keep Nelson at a distance.

According to police, in the early morning hours of August 10, Nelson crashed his car through Laquanda’s bedroom window and stabbed her to death.

Jonathan was found guilty of capital murder and sentenced to life in prison.
