Providing the HOPE to survive today, tomorrow and beyond

Kimberly Kay Harmon MN 08-16-2000

Kimberly Kay Harmon, 40

MN, St. Paul

August 16, 2000

Kimberly's murder has left her 7yr old Daughter to grow up without her Mother in her life after having seen her Mother murdered and having survived the brutal and senseless attack herself

Kimberly's 7-year-old daughter told police that she survived by playing dead and then running downstairs for help. Two persons visiting the building found her and law enforcement was called.

Kimberly was stabbed 130 times and was dead when police found her – her daughter was stabbed 36 times and is hospitalized in good condition.

The attack is described as particularly brutal and investigators do not know why it went on for so long and the motive is not clear.

Samuel P. Mitchell had been visiting Harmon and the three had watched a movie just before the attack.

Mitchell has been indicted on two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder and is being held in the Washington County jail in lieu of $1 million bail.

Please Share Information on Loved Ones & Friends

We at Le Chrysalis are attempted to gain as much knowledge about every Victim of Intimate Partner Violence (Domestic Violence) as possible so that we can share their stories and keep their Lives Alive through their Stories. We know that by learning what they went through and who they were we can help protect future victims from going through the same fate. Their Hobbies; their Jobs; their Likes and Dislikes; their Stories; their Pictures!…the more that is shared, the more we can Remember!

Please share any information you may have about a Victim! Let's not only Cherish the Names, Stories and Lives of those that have lost their fight to Intimate Partner Violence (Domestic Violence), but take what they went through and take something positive out of it! We understand the pain, there are 3 on this list that are our Family members… Just know, that Together we Can and WILL make a difference!
