Claudio was allegedly bludgeoned and stabbed to death using a hammer and sculpting tool by his boyfriend Laurence Harris, 20 of Brockton.

Harris was arraigned in Brockton District Court on charges of murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Montrond was a member of the Cape Verdean Community; family members were not aware of his relationship with Harris. The two reportedly met online and Montrond was trying to break off the relationship.

Harris pled not guilty and was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
