Brooke was shot to death in the parking lot of her apartment complex by her ex-boyfriend, Joey Mata, 25.

According to police and news reports, Brooke was outside talking to her boyfriend when Mata drove up and a fight ensued. Brooke sent her boyfriend to call police when Mata shot her in the head.

He shot and killed himself just before police arrived at his mother’s home.
