Leanniatia, a 21 year-old Fridley woman, was stabbed to death outside her home Aug. 11, 2001.

Eighteen-year-old Dery A. Mitchell, the victim’s boyfriend who lived with the victim, her mother, brother, and daughter, was charged with counts of second-degree intentional murder, attempted second degree intentional murder, and aggravated robbery following an incident that left his girlfriend dead and sent her brother to the hospital with stab wounds to the abdomen and chest.
