Karla's murder has left her 2 children to continue on without their Mother in their life
Karla saw her ex-boyfriend, Richard Wojcik, 54, in the area around her home, so she called police. They issued an Emergency Order of Protection, but Wojcik returned to the residence and stabbed Ember. She was taken to the hospital and was on life support for five days before dying of the injuries. Her roommate was also injured in the attack.
Wojcik had previously been convicted of a domestic violence assault resulting in an 18 month prison sentence, of which he served one year. He was placed on supervised probation in March.
