Lee White reported that his marriage had been strained for several months, ever since he found out that his wife had been making calls to another man. He confronted her in a parking lot and got into her truck. The couple argued, and he reports that after she drove a short distance he told her to stop the truck.
Luna was shot three times, though White reports that the gun went off when he fumbled with it but he didn't know he had shot her. He left her there.
The FBI discovered that he had placed a rifle on layaway in December and had upped Luna's life insurance policy by $15,000 on Dec. 23.
