Dawn and Linda's murder has left Dawn's 2yr old to grow up without his Mother and Grandmother in his life
Dawn successfully petitioned the court for an Order of Protection against the father of their 2-year-old boy. It was issued 4 days before a hearing in which the same judge ordered joint parental counseling for the two. The judge also denied Dawn's request to relocate to Maryland because she feared Gabriel Swartz, 28, would harm her or their son.
Two weeks after that hearing, Schwartz fatally shot Dawn's mother, Linda. He then went upstairs and shot and killed Dawn before killing himself.
Friends went to the home after Dawn did not arrive at work and heard the 2 year old crying. They called police, who discovered the bodies and the unharmed toddler.
Dawn's son was placed in CPS custody.
