Authorities say that Emina was in her apartment with her ex-boyfriend, Dzevad Selimovic, 39. At some point, she turned her back on him and Selimovic stabbed her multiple times with a screwdriver.

Hours later, he pulled up to a police patrol car. He told officers about the stabbing, they took him into custody, and Emina was taken to a hospital. Emina died of her injuries.
