Vernon's murder has left his daughter to carry on without her Father in her life

Walter McCarthy, age 49, allegedly lured his girlfriend's father, Vernon, into his garage, where he stabbed him to death.

He also attempted to attack his girlfriend, but she was able to run to a neighbor's house.
