Mary's murder has left her 11yr old Daughter without her Mother in her life

Mary was allegedly killed by her boyfriend Joseph Beatty, 53. While seeking care at Boston Medical Center because of feeling suicidal, Beatty told the hospital staff that he had strangled and then suffocated Mary Beaton in her home and left her on the bed.

Mary’s eleven year-old daughter was with her father for the weekend and not at home at the time of the murder.

Neighbors reported hearing the couple arguing frequently in recent months prior to the murder. Police reported that the latest argument was over a planned trip and money for rent.

Beatty was married to another woman and lived nearby with his wife and college-age son.

Beatty was charged with choking Mary into unconsciousness, having sex with her and then killing her.
