Susan's murder has left her Son without his Mother in his life
Woolf was a long-time supporter and volunteer with RESPOND in Somerville.
Susan spent most of her life in Massachusetts, where she had a son from a previous relationship, and moved to New York in recent years to pursue her art career.
Susan, originally from Somerville, was stabbed and bound with packing tape in her home in Queens, New York. Her live-in boyfriend, Tigren Tambiev, is the primary suspect being sought by police.
Woolf had an active restraining order against Tambiev with whom she had begun a romantic relationship over the summer.
Friends reported that Woolf was afraid for her life.
Police responded to a domestic call in September, 2009 but no arrests were made.
