Casey was allegedly stabbed to death by his boyfriend John Lacoy, 29, of Winthrop.
Police have charged Lacoy with murder; he is being held without bail. Prosecutors believe that after an argument Lacoy stabbed Casey and then stuffed his body underneath the back port of his home.
According to the investigation, on July 31, Lacoy told a friend that Casey had drowned and, on August 3, claimed his body had been discovered and sent a text message reading “He won’t be able to leech off me anymore.” Casey’s body was discovered after neighbors complained to police about a foul smell.
While Lacoy originally denied knowing Casey, he later acknowledged their relationship.
