Kristen was strangled and killed. The Hennepin County Attorney’s office has charged her boyfriend, Douglas Manney with second-degree murder and he is currently in custody.
On Saturday evening June 4th , police were called to the home of Kristen Sandeen and Douglas Manney. Police escorted Douglas to a nearby motel for the evening.
The next morning, Douglas called Kristen’s sister to say that Kristen was unconscious and that he did not know if she was dead or alive. He asked her to call 911 and told her he was leaving the apartment. Police found Kristen dead on her living room floor.
The autopsy shows that she died of strangulation.
