Dee Ann was stabbed then shot multiple times by her husband, Kelly Douglas Bateman, 51. The bulk of the incident was recorded on a 911 call.

When officers responded and entered the home, Kelly Bateman came out of a bedroom and pointed a handgun at them. One officer fired at Bateman with an M-14 rifle, hitting him several times and killing him.
