Lamar was murdered by his father by suffocation, Aaron Michael, while he was on visitation with him.

At the time of Lamar's death, it was stated at first by Michael's that Lamar had choked on french fries, then later a Jolly Rancher. His death was ruled undetermined, although many suspected but couldn't prove murder.

Before Aaron Michael was shot by police officers after killing his then ex-girlfriend, Andrea Arrington, Michael confessed to two friends over the phone that he had murdered his two sons' years prior. Alijah Townes, 4 mo old, was believed to have possibly died of meningitis.
