Linda was shot and killed by a former boyfriend, Curtis Lynn Larson. Curtis shot Linda in a minivan in a relatively secluded area of Imogene. The minivan was parked outside Our Place Bar.

The authorities believe that the two had previously had an intimate relationship. Linda was shot in the head with a .22 caliber rifle by Larson and then he shot himself in the head with the same rifle. There were no witnesses to the shootings.
