A family friend called police to the home of Michael and Becky Peacock at 1:00 A.M. on April 16, 2004. Michael had been shot once in the torso and was dead when paramedics arrived at the home.

The decedent’s wife, Becky Peacock, turned herself in to police in Farmington, NM within 24 hours of the death.

On October 15, 2004, Becky Peacock pleaded guilty to manslaughter, a second degree felony, for having fatally shot Michael after catching him in a hot tub with another woman.

On January 14, 2005, Peacock was sentenced to one year in the Salt Lake County Jail and 48 months probation. A 1-15 year prison sentence was suspended.
