Christine’s murder has left behind 2 children to grow up without their Mother in their lives

Robert Interval, Jr. called his girlfriend, Christine Mustafa, while she was at work about 1 p.m. on May 10, accusing her of cheating on him and threatening to kill her, according to court documents. Mustafa was last seen by co-workers as she was leaving work at about 1:30 p.m on May 10 and did not show up to work the next day.

Mustafa's family told police she had been making plans to move out of her home and get an order of protection against Interval, court documents said. Family members also told police that Mustafa had grown fearful of Interval, who had also made threats about killing her, court documents said. Interval told police officers soon after Mustafa's disappearance that he and Mustafa had gotten into an argument, court records said.

On May 12, police went to the home to do a welfare check on Mustafa's 8-month-old daughter. Officers made contact with Interval at the front door, noting that he was carrying a loaded .40-caliber handgun, court documents said. Mustafa’s Nissan Cube was still parked in the driveway and her purse, including a wallet and Social Security card, was discovered on the bathroom floor between the toilet and bathtub.

A search warrant executed four days later revealed other clues. Investigators noted pillowcases and bedsheets that contained a small amount of “possible blood-stained material,” court documents stated. And records also show that luminol sprayed on the walls indicated the presence of blood or other biological material.

Interval was arrested on June 8, 2017 nearly a month after her disappearance on suspicion of her murder.  He was found guilty and sentenced to 25 years in April of 2019.

Her body has not been found.
