Police found Esmeralda’s body along a canal bank after she had been missing for two days.
Police also found a makeshift map in the car of her ex-boyfriend, Cipriano Briones, 34, with the location of her body.
Briones was killed by Department of Public Safety troopers after he opened fire on them during a chase.
